Why Recycle Foam?
Foam scrap is recyclable and reusable. Large amount of polyurethane foam scrap generated in product fabrication can be sold after properly baled by using a foam baler, which brings extra revenue to foam product manufacturers or foam converters.
Research indicates that up to 30% of foam becomes scrap during product fabrication. If these scrap foams are not recycled, most of them will end up in costly landfills or burned, which would be a big burden to foam manufacturers and has negative effect on both environment and human beings.
Polyurethane foam scrap has a wide range of applications. They are shredded into small pieces and then re-bonded together or mixed with fiber. They can be used in cushion, floor mats, mattress, packaging, car component, toys, but the majority of PU foam scrap is to make carpet underlay.
