Cotton Baler Frequently Asked Questions

What Machine Bales Cotton?

The machine used for baling cotton is called cotton baler or cotton baling press, cotton baling machine. It is a hydraulic-driven baler machine with a compressing platen moving up and down to fulfill cotton baling cycles and finally form a dense cotton bale after certain baling cycles. Makabale cotton baler can compress raw cotton as well as all kinds of cotton waste.

How Do They Bale Cotton?

Firstly, load cotton materials into the feed gate until the compressing chamber is full.

Then, press the start button on the electric control panel to activate the platen start compressing, and the platen will automatically return to initial position after pressing.

Next, the operator feeds the second time, and the same baling cycle afterwards.

When the bale height reaches set value after several baling cycles, the platen will hold the material in a compressed state to allow the operator to tie the bale.

Once tied up, the bale will be safely ejected out from the chamber with the retraction of the platen.

If you want to wrap the cotton bale, at the first step before loading material, you need to place a piece of wrap bag on the chamber base, and at the last cycle of cotton baling, place another piece of wrap bag on the platen before compressing.

After cotton baling, the final cotton bales are stacked in the warehouse and ready for transport and factory use later on.

Why Baling Cotton?

Firstly, baling cotton into uniform cubic bales is a standard procedure in cotton trading business. Cotton is packaged and sold in bales. It is an international standard trading unit on every wholesale market worldwide.

Secondly, cotton bales are beneficial in storage and transportation. Owing to their consistent size, they can be stacked on top of each other, which results in great cost-savings on space and shipping vehicles. There are many cotton dealers and exporters in countries like India, Turkey, Pakistan, and Germany. The bale size and bale weight of the cotton are essential because the denser the bale is, the more cotton bales can be loaded in the shipping container, then the more cost-efficient for the exporters.

What Are Waste Cotton Bales Used For?

In the textile industry, there are large quantities of cotton waste and by-product generated in the manufacturing processes including yarn spinning, weaving, and cutting process. These cotton waste will be compressed into bales by cotton baler and traded in the market. They are applicable in many industries. They can be still used to make textile products like jeans, towels, socks, and T-shirts. Due to the material’s high absorption ability, they are also favorable product for cleaning in automotive, printing, and marine industries, as well as raw materials for making cotton pads, mats, and toys.

How Large is a Bale of Cotton?

The size of a cotton bale depends on the size of the cotton baler you are using for baling cotton. Each baler has a baling chamber. The nominal bale length and width are the same as the chamber size, while the bale height is adjustable, and you can make the height as you want within the limitation. You can also get a customized bale size from Makabale if you have specific requirement.
